Services
In accordance with the ISO 9001-certification, MAV-machines are officially classified as testing devices and thus are subject to regular inspections. As the manufacturer, we offer to carry out those periodical inspections and calibrations for you. Needless to say, we also conduct repairs and maintenance and also provide spare parts for our machines.
Calibrating means determining and documenting of the deviation of a measuring device’s displayed values compared to the conventionally correct value (DKD-4 guideline).
Adjustment is the simple alignment of a measuring device in order to eliminate systematic deviations as far as it is necessary for the intended application. It requires an intervention and results in a permanent change of the measuring device (DIN 1319-1).
All machines handled by the MAV PRFTECHNIK will not only be calibrated during multiple measurement series’, but also adjusted to guarantee the highest possible measuring accuracy over the entire load range. When we speak about calibrating, the adjustemnt will always be included.
As the owner, you are responsible of managing and observing the calibration cycles. The chosen cycle-period depends on the machine’s general condition, the type of application and the frequency of use.
Unless otherwise stated, inspections should take place at least once every 12 months.
With our KMG calibration system, you may also perform calibration by yourself. The system includes the KMG force gauge and one loadcell with a specific force range.
Please note: Should a stationary test machine be moved or extensive repairs or adjustments be carried out on a machine, an inspection and/or calibration is urgently recommended. (According to the ISO/DIS 7500-1:2014 (Tension/compression testing machines - Verification and calibration of the force-measuring system))
As the manufacturer, calibrations of mav test stations carried out by us have the same weight and importance as those conducted by accredited test laboratories. Moreover we will also adjust the internal measuring parameters and therfore eliminate all existing deviations and assure the highest possible accuracy. The machine’s condition before and after the procedure will be documented and may be seen on the calibration certificate.
All masses and gauges used for calibration purposes are periodically inspected and are traceable to the national standards of Germany at the “Physikalische Bundesanstalt” (PTB) - (visible in the associated documents).
Calibrations are always carried out under predefined conditions, which are stated on the calibration certificate.
Here you can find a sample of a calibration certificate.
Since the estimated time and effort as well as possible repairs and extended maintenance works (depending on the general condition) vary from machine to machine, it is impossible for us to estimate the total costs in advance.
Once the machine has been inspected, you will receive a cost estimate. That is why we kindly ask you to name a contact person within the shipping documents.
It is not mandatory to make an appointment for a calibration or repair in advance. The shipping documents however should state clearly what you expect us to do with the sent machine.
Since the workload of our calibration laboratory is not constantly the same, a call or e-mail prior to shipping the machine to our works might be a good idea in order to speed up the process and / or reduce the time of nonuse.
Of course you can calibrate mav test stations by yourself. All you need is the appropriate equipment: a KMG force measuring system used as a reference system and a load cell that is suitable for the machine’s force range.
Additional products and specific information regarding the equipment can be found under the “Products” - “Calibration Equipment” tab.
Regardless of the specified calibration cycles you should perform visual and functional checks of your machines on a regular basis in order to detect possible malfunctions as early as possible.
To avoid transport damage, you should only use original packaging of your testing device. Keep in mind that you are shipping a highly sensitive electronic measuring device!
Please make sure you check the packaging before shipment to ensure the device will withstand the transport without being damaged.
We shall not be liable for damage caused during the transport.
All device shipments should be accompanied by documents containing name and address of your company, phone and fax number, name of the contact person and, if applicable, the correct order number.
Please also note the model designation, the serial number and the year of manufacture of the sent device in the accompanying papers. This information shall be taken from the respective device's type plate. Furthermore all required services such as repair, calibration, adjustment, maintenance inspection etc. should be listed.
The accompanying documents should also include potential malfunction descriptions as well as the delivery date we agreed upon (if applicable).
Please understand that we can only provide successful repairs for devices for a limited period of time, since the procurement of spare parts is, in particular of electronical components, to some extent not possible anymore.
During repairs, the firmware of the test stations will always be updated to the latest version.
For detailed information regarding warranty-deadlines, service-periods, spare parts supply or technical support please contact us.
Any old electric or electronic device must not be diposed of in the household waste.
